Sometimes you just have to accept it when fate decides to place the woman or man of your dreams in your path. It may not be when you expect it or the person you might have expected, but when it does happen you should maybe just go with the flow.
When it comes to Georgia she just can't cope with any kind of unexpected flow. She likes to know where she is going and have all situations under control, so she is like a wet kipper caught on dry land when she ends up at a dodgy escort party, which is supposed to be a singles extravaganza.
Unfortunately smooth businessman Danny finds himself in the same predicament. A quick exit is needed pronto. He can't afford to be associated with any kind of scandal, but there just happens to be this intoxicating helpless looking female, who has captured his attention.
The two of them end up making a rash decision with enormous consequences. Their mutual attraction becomes muddied by paperwork and contracts. Their physical and emotional attachment is blurred by the confines of their business relationship. They both need to wake up and smell the roses. Act upon gut instinct instead adhering to rules and regulations.
Frances has written a snazzy little romance with plenty of power and emotion.

Nearly everyone will learn something from this book

I've been repairing and building things my whole life and thought a had a pretty decent grasp of the most common tools and how to use. I bought this book because I thought it would be a fun bathroom bath.

I've been pleasantly surprised by the amount of things I've learned. I've learned a better way to use some of the tools I own and understand the capability of tools I've never touched. Topics include rules, squares, plumb bobs and levels, dividers and calipers, scribers, punches, jigs and guides, benches and vises, clamps, sharpening tools, saws, chisels and gouges, planes, routers, spokeshaves, scrapers, knives, staple gun, hammmers and mallets, modeling tools, pincers and pliers, auger and gimlet, braces and drills, lathe, screwdrivers, sanders and abrasives, lubricating equipment, battery testing equipment, rasps and files, snips and shears, wrenches, taps and dies, plumbing tools, welding tools, needles, brushes rollers and paint sprayer, ladders, building tools, axes and hatchets, adze hooks and scythe, digging tools, protective clothing.

This isn't an in depth reference work. However, it is an enjoyable and enlightening book that many folks who take pride in repairing and building will enjoy.

Lovely!

My Dad gave me this book when I was growing up. I am now a Carpenter and still have the copy he gave me. I think it is wonderful book and I often refer to it if I need an answer about a tool in my kit. It is such a lovely book to just browse through because the illustrations are great and the text very informative. I have a biast opinion yes! but I would not do without it in my reference library.

This publication is a great source of information to me as a shop teacher trying to arouse young students' interest in tools. In one book, the author relays the history of most of the common hand tools in use in carpentry and associated trades today. In addition, he gives detailed instructions as to the use of each tool and provides flawless illustrations to guide the reader.
I would recommend this book as a gift for a hobbyist, shop teacher, contractor or any persons with similar interest areas. I plan to award a volume to my top shop student each year.\

A great book

I beg to disagree with the other reviewer. I am a complete newcomer to ritual studies and this book is every novice's dream. Both detailed and wide-ranging, it gives sufficient exposure to the key questions to start using ritual in your own work, or to simply appreciate the pervasiveness of ritual in social life.

The book is divided into three parts: Part one summarizes various theories of ritual from the mid 19th century to the present while discussing key aspects of ritual. Frazer, Durkheim, Levi-Strauss, Van Gennep, Douglas, Turner are some of the many key figures presented. Part two examines types of ritual, while Part three explores "the broader relationships between ritual activities and social life." A wealth of examples and brief case studies complete this extraordinary volume.

The coverage and precision of this book are outstanding but I was most impressed by the objectivity and fairness with which Bell presents thinkers and positions now dated. If you are looking for a single volume introduction to ritual look no further.

Plumbs the depths and spans the breadth of a complex topic

Catherine Bell is certainly one of the preeminent scholars of ritual studies. This book is a fantastic demonstration of why that is the case. It's a tour de force of scholarship and quite a tour of the vast territory covered by the term "ritual" as well. Ritual is one of those words (like "religion" itself) that we all think we can define easily until we're actually asked to do it. Bell gets around the problem of slippery and ethnocentric definitions of ritual by encompassing a wide range of activities she calls "ritualization." This strategic shift from noun to verb brings ritual out of the dusty display cabinet of pinned-down "things" and into the dynamic and contested realm of ongoing human activity. She sees the doing of "ritual" and "ritual-like" activities as well as the interpretation of those activities as acts of ritualization. A bit post-modern? Yes. If this discursive approach to understanding human behavior turns you off, then this isn't the book for you. If you're looking for a sweeping introduction to the field of ritual studies from a scholar at the top of her game who has an impressive command of work in that field and in many related ones besides, then this is a tasty treat indeed.

Larger than life

Captivating.
Remember sitting on a grandparent's lap, and being transported to another place and time because they were such a good storyteller? Well, its been a while since I was a kid and listened to a story. And in this day and age, when you can google, youtube and DVR just about anything, it takes a special voice to bring magic into your head and rekindle old tales with new fire.
Sharma's translation and Chakrabarti's narration are INCREDIBLE!!! It is hard to believe that one person can generate the voices of the dying King Dasharath in the cauldron of his grief, the thunderous voice of Ravana coming from all ten of his hideous heads, the shrill shrieking of Soorpanaka, and the soothing majesterial voice of Ram. It is awesome to hear.
I purchased this audiobook for my children -- and they listen to it spellbound as we drive around. We pull into the driveway, and no one wants to get out of the car, because the story and the narration are that good!!
Yes, I bought this for my kids...but I too listen with rapt attention and feel like a kid again.
Highly, highly recommended!

About the Author
Chris Goode is a writer, director, performer and sound designer. His recent credits include The Forest & The Field at Ovalhouse, Monkey Bars at the Traverse and Unicorn Theatres and 9 at the West Yorkshire Playhouse. Other credits include two Fringe First award-winning shows: Neutrino (with Unlimited Theatre: Soho Theatre, London, and international tour), and his own solo debut Kiss of Life (Pleasance, Edinburgh; Drill Hall, London), which travelled to Sydney Opera House as part of the Sydney International Festival. He won the Headlong/Gate New Directions Award for his production …Sisters at the Gate Theatre. More recently he was part of the international touring cast of Tim Crouch’s The Author, which first opened at the Royal Court Theatre.
