Eerie Adventure with magic and sibling rivalry

It seems to me the stronger GYG books are the ones with multiple characters in them. This time your character is forced to interact with "your" sister and friend throughout the book, which adds more opportunity for interesting situations. The dialogue between the characters is actually believable and even made me chuckle a few times. The short summary is, you're at the mall with your friend Sid when your sister ducks into a magic shop (is that really even a thing?) and accidentally steals the owner's book of spells. The storyline where the characters visit an abandoned chemical factory has a great eerie atmosphere as well as the other storyline where you're dealing directly with The Magician himself. The really strange sidestory has you encountering a strange grandma and things get weird quickly. All in all, while a little forgettable, this book was fairly interesting, the writing well-paced, and just a general good read. I recommend.
