Typical Whitney - Fabulous

Whitney is one of my favorite authors, I've read everything she's written and can't gush about it enough!. She writes an alpha male like nobody else and gives him a wonderful sarcastic and whitty personality with a pretty large bank account. Her female characters can hold their own but seem to get stronger and more passionate when paired with the alpha.

I was given a copy for an honest review. This is a short novella, read easily in less than 2 hours but the story line is not lacking and grabs your attention pretty quickly. Heads up.....there is sex and it's HOT!

All I know is that I want more!

You have got to be kidding me! Come back with the rest of my story Ms. Williams! I wanna know what happens and I certainly don't see a follow-up book for this story! WTH was that though!!! Arghhh!!!

It's safe to say I loved it! It was short, sweet, spicy and packed with so much into it's 118 pages. We not only meet two complete strangers, but we get to understand them as individuals and accept them as a couple. Though not much on Blake's part, we got a load of history from Paris.

I initially hated her name because I am not a fan of names of places for a person's name, but I completely forgot about that and everything Nashville the moment he said "Your in my seat"

I felt like I knew both main characters for years and had invested in there story for the same amount of time. It was fiery, detailed, romantic and memorable, without even leaving the house. It's phenomenal to see what can be packed into a well written, developed and delivered novella. This was more fulfilling than the last two full length novels I read.

All important issues and conversation were covered and we got clarity and opinions from all necessary parties. I will be the first to say that my initial reaction was that this chick is crazy! I still think she is, but the way she takes control of not only her life, but events and a room for the matter, is magnificent. They are the perfect match and there was never a dull moment. I am desperate to know how their story will end but I doubt we might ever get that, because it might take away from the path chartered for this story.

The emotions were real, so were many of her thoughts in relation her ex. I understand the feelings and the inner struggles and monologues; I also understand how some one might interpret this story as too much of a fairy tale, but I never got that. It could have thread the line, but it was no where near.

Maybe this story has been told before, but it's new to me. I loved all the characters, Adrian included and i think it held a flair of originality. I don't normally do road trip novels, because I like stability, but I loved this one and hope to see them acclimate to their separate lives, together. The appeal of them as a couple is too strong!

We only got one in depth sex scene but I loved it! It comprised of both sides and gave you soft and hard depending on what you like. There were a lot of reverse rolls also and even missing some pertinent information on Blake, but I never felt the lost and lived in every moment.

After reading two novella length books and a prologue to a novel, it's safe to say that Whitney G. Williams is now one of my new favourite authors. I am sincerely a fan!

The "Sacred Scroll" for serious Ape-o-philes!

I can count on the fingers (and fully-opposable thumb) of one hand the number of books that have impressed, entertained, and inspired me as much as this one.

It doesn't hurt that I grew up as a hardcore Ape-o-phile. Still, had "Planet of the Apes as American Myth" been a mere nostalgic retrospective, it would not have riveted me as it did. Something strange happened as I read Greene's lucid, insightful and cogent commentary. I came to understand, finally, just why the Apes series and the world it evoked had, during my pre-teen and teen years, intrigued me on so many levels at once...and why the series' admittedly outlandish sci-fi premise always had to it the ring of truth. Reading this book, I felt vindicated. It was as if the author said, "You were right all along, Paul. These films really DID matter -- and here's why."

Like the final scene in the original 1968 film, Greene's book forces you to look back at all that preceded it (in this case, the POTA films & TV series) in an entirely new light. For Apes fans this is, quite simply, a MUST-READ.

Not just about race...

The Ape movies were not just mirrors to show us our racial problems but also to show solutions to them. But it wasn't just about race, but also about foreign affairs such as the Cold War and the Vietnam Conflict, religion vs. science, nature vs. nurture, the fears of a nuclear holocaust, even our treatment of animals and how we treat women.

The book really helped me to understand the movies with a detailed background about the times in which the movies were created. The book also has a touch of humor even while explaining about what the films were trying to say or show. Sometimes without even knowing it.

In film and telelvision, very few things happen by pure accident. Although Greene may seem at times to "read too much" into 'Planet of the Apes', in reality he presents a clear and very detailed analysis of the series and films in relation to the time in which they were produced. The connections between the two cannot be overlooked, and whether or not you agree with all of Greene's points, it is necessary to have all possible ideas presented in this type of study. This is exactly what we do with Shakespeare, for example--analyze his "art" in historical context. Whether Shakespeare intended all of the possible connections is, ultimately, irrelevent. Television and film, as a modern art form, can be examined in the same way. This book is a fine example of such analysis. Greene is a talented young writer and I look forward to more of his work.

Mechanics of Fibrous Composites
Whether you are a practicing engineer looking for a desk reference, or an instructor looking for a text to introduce high level undergraduate or graduate level engineering students to the mechanics of composite materials, Herakovich's text is an ideal choice.
From my own perspective of a practicing engineer, the book's value as a desk reference is unparalleled. Herakovich includes an extensive section on notation and terms in the preface of the book as well as providing an extensive review of the concepts of solid mechanics as well as the 3-D constitutive equations of solids in the early chapters. For the engineer who may not have worked in the mechanics of materials for sometime, these sections prevent you from having to dig out a dusty old undergraduate text to review basic concepts.
Having set the stage, Herakovich provides a detailed discussion of the mechanical properties, design, and test methods for laminated materials. The chapter on test methods should be of particular interest to instructors who want to include lab exercises in their courses.

Clear and understandable, but some bugs

I found this book very useful as a reference while writing a small computer algebra system. It's a definate must-have for all the hordes of people out there who are rewriting subsets of Maple, Mathematica, etc. The explanation of the theory is relatively clear and helpful so that a not-so-theory-inclined person (such as myself) can understand the material. The cost of such clarity is a loss of some conciseness so someone who lives and breathes abstract algebra may desire a more esoteric book (like Winkler's). The biggest flaw of the book are the poorly debugged algorithms. Almost every algorithm presented in the book has some sort of minor flaw with serious reprecussions on correctness. This results in much frustration if you're actually trying to implement the algorithms.

an excellent treatment

We used this book in an advanced undergraduate/early graduate class in computer algebra. The book provides a concise and rigorous, but very readable introduction to computational algebra theory, with algorithms written in pseudo code.
Assuming proficiency in programming, as further pre-requisite I would suggest an undergraduate course in abstract algebra (or equivalent mathematical maturity) for maximum benefit.
An excellent collection of algorithms, proofs, and advanced introductory material, written in a (comparatively) breezy style.

Sweat bathing has been as common to people as the making of bread and the squeezing of the grape.  Numerous cultures through history have discovered that the sweat bath, in one form or another, enlivens both body and spirit.  

Several years ago, before I got married and had a family, I spend three continuous years visiting sweat baths in far corners of the world. (Someone had to do it!)  My photos and text were published by Capra Press in a book with the appropriate title:  Sweat, the Illustrated History and Description of the Finnish Sauna, Russian Bania, Islamic Hammam, Japanese Mushi-buro, Mexican Temescal and American Indian & Eskimo Sweatlodge. 

The book is available on Amazon but I have also put much of the material on the web at theperfectsweat.com.  

The book Sweat included a how-to-build section and recently I re-wrote and updated the material for an eBook titled, How To Build Your Own Sauna & Sweat.  In the past I sold the how to build text from Sweat by mail-order for $25.  I am so happy now to offer it in a revised and updated eBook form. Now I can substantially lower the price to only $4.99, and deliver the material instantly via the web.  What a wonderful world!  

It's my dream to visit and update the rest of the material in Sweat.  I'll let you know when it happens!  In the meanwhile, Happy Sweating.

Nice Book and yes I built my Sauna!

This is certainly a "booklet" and simple but it is the only book I have read (about sauna construction) and have just finished my own wood burning sauna! I found the book simple and useful; it helped me understand the placement of my wood burning stove and the amount of "draw" from the outside air so there is plenty of oxygen in my sauna, wood, rock and nail selection were covered as well. You know, it's not rocket science building a sauna and this book gave me just enough confidence in putting together my own sauna. I took my first sauna the other day with my wife, and oh, how wonderful!!! Wood burning is the way to go, and my entire expenses in building the 6x8 foot sauna inside part of my backyard shed cost just over $500. Well worth it!!!

A must for sauna fans

Even if you're not building your own sauna, this is a must-read. Concise, to the point, it gives you a sense of the history and the fundamentals of the sauna or sweat-lodge. Just learning the Finnish words is a kick, but more importantly it gives you a sense of the hows, whys and traditions. It's applicable not only for do-it-yourselfers but for anyone who is contemplating buying or having a sauna built. Highly recommended.

What a fantastic book that should be required reading not only for every Catholic, but every American. Why? Because what happened in the Catholic seminaries is what is happening to all of America. I don't doubt that this horrible "infection" is still happening in the seminaries, in our schools, in the military and private business. Mr. Rose's style was engaging and I could not put the book down! I read it in less than 24 hours and I have purchased other copies for friends and family and lent out my copy. My priest saw me reading the book and commented that the book was an "oldie but a goodie" and then he said "don't let it shake your faith". I told him that if anything, it made my faith stronger. I can not recommned this book strongly enough. Kudos to Michael Rose for this excellent expose!

Were not slouching to Gomorrah anymore...we're there!

How do you give a five star rating to a book and author that informs you about the utter contemptability in thought, word and deed, of those orchestrating a total destruction of one of humanities greatest pillars of civility, morality and social stability.
It would appear that those now intrusted with monitoring, administering and supervising something so sacred and so trusted by the Ameircan people, in the past, have been obsorbed by the neo-liberal entities representing Satan, a great darkness in our society's soul and the minions of evil who disguise themselves under the cloak of false compassion, the tolerance of intolerance, the acceptance of sinful conduct and the attack upon all that is holy.
This is the great curse of our society, that we go about our business as the world outside our own little universes is being torn asunder by the forces of evil and degeneracy and deviant personal physical self-gratification.
So the authors are bascially telling us that once again another moral institution has been infiltrated by deviant progressive liberals, self-centered immoral women activist, perverts and gutless submissive male administrators who submit, and have changed this bastion of morality and godliness , the church, into a haven for Gays, Lesbians, femi-nazi nuns, evil doers and the ungodly.
This is a tale of woe upon the soul of mankind and the entire world for that matter. Just one more nail in the coffin of the American Dream. The church, it seems, even the Pope has become impotent to stem this tide of evil and things are progressing much like we have been forewarned by sacred religious text. Abraham Lincoln was right, we will never be destroyed from an outside enemy but from within our borders by our own arrogance, deviance and a generation of young people, led by disreputable adults, who will totally disrespect civilized society.
An interesting but sad and frustrating look at the state of affairs in our church and in America. I found that I could only stomach a handful of pages at a time, and then had to put it down to calm down and or recover my composure before continuing. It brings on such a sense of betrayal and unimaginable saddness that reading it in its' entirety would cause one to lapse into a drepressed state.
Although I am sure those who support deviance and sexual immorality and hedonistic tendencies and excessive liberalism will find this book comical, uplifting and prophetic. Thank you Mr. Rose for exposing this holocaust within our religious institutions.

Failure of orthodoxy; not a slam on homosexuality

Michael Rose has written a expose' on what some would feel is a very sensitive subject with daring honesty. This also is very timely as it helps address the recent Church scandals. One must read this book from cover to cover before yielding an informed decision regarding its message. Some reviews get stuck on the idea that this is a slam on homosexuality only. In fact, after complete evaluation one sees that Rose's theme involves a subversive movement in and about the Church often led by Church hierarchy that endorses a falling from Orthodox Church Teaching. This so called heterodoxy is manifest by some bishops, priests, and "progressive" church laity suggesting that priestly vows(celibacy,poverty,obediency) are not imporant and in fact optional. This encouragement of priests not to keep their vow of celibacy makes a tough job even harder. This also supports heterosexual priests in breaking vows; not just homosexual priests. It just so happens that the subculture that desires a change toward heterodoxy is best represented by a militant group that not only endorses a gay lifestyle, in defiance of Church teaching, but frequently practices homosexuality.
If one reads this book with an open mind he will realize that the Catholic Church has been very consistent in its teachings of dogma and doctrine. Although this does not mean that everyone will like these teachings, fair minded people will admire this consistency.
